LIBRARY
USERS:
The Penticton Academy of Music Library is for use by students and faculty of
the Penticton Academy of Music.
HOW TO FIND WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR:
Within each instrument category, there are subcategories.
For example, in the Vocal section you will find the following subcategories:
Art Songs & Leider,
Children’s Songs,
Christmas Songs,
Studies & Methods, etc
In addition to items pertaining to musical instruments, the library has the following categories:
Biography
Music Reference
Music Scores composed across the centuries: under the window
Books of Music and Sheet Music: in boxes, arranged by instrument,
beginning with Organ
Scores of well-known Musicals: near the back door
CDs of famous classical music: beneath the Art Song section
RECORD-KEEPING:
When borrowing an item, please write it down in the blue binder, which is the Borrowing Record.
BORROWING PERIOD:
Material can be borrowed for a period of two weeks.
All items have also been marked as belonging to PAM, so that when you get them home you won’t forget where they
came from. When returning items you have borrowed please place them in the Returned Items box near the window.
RE-SHELVING:
If you are unsure where to put an item that you have been looking at, please do not attempt to re-shelve it. Deposit it in the box near the window. When returning an item you have borrowed, please use the Returned Items box near the window.
LIBRARY KEY:
If you have borrowed a library key from the Admin office or your teacher’s studio, please return it there before leaving.
There is a $20 charge for keys that go missing.
